Unemployed? Work For basketballscotland!!

Working in partnership with the government’s Future Jobs Fund, basketballscotland is in a position to offer paid employment to individuals who have been out of work for the past 3 months.

We’ll pay you, provide you with work experience, help develop your skills and provide you with training to help your future job prospects.

There are a number of exciting positions available, including Communications Officer and Administration Support Officer based out of our head office in Edinburgh, and several Regional posts throughout the country.

Each post will last 6 months and to be eligible, individuals must have been registered on job seekers allowance for a period of 3 months.

The available posts are:

Administration Support Officer (based in Edinburgh)

This post is to support the Head Office in the delivery of basketball programmes including National Leagues, Coach Education and membership.  A varied role that would provide an interesting challenge, which would be an ideal step for anyone looking to get into office based, administrative or sport development positions

Communications Support Officer (based in Edinburgh)

Working with basketballscotland’s head office team, this role will help improve communication with the membership.  This position would provide an ideal grounding for anyone looking for work in marketing, communications or sport development.

Regional Support Officer (positions available in Glasgow, Dundee and Stirling)

Work with basketballscotland’s Regional Development Coordinators to deliver a range of basketball activities including coaching sessions, competitions, leagues, events and education courses. 

These positions are ideal for individuals looking to get into sport development, coaching or administration roles.

Scottish Sports Futures (SSF) is a charitable organisation committed to enhancing the lives of young people in Scotland.  Based in Glasgow, SSF delivers nationwide “Education through Sport” programmes to 10 to 21 year olds with a specific focus on those young people most at risk.  The organisation works in partnership to ensure local community needs are met.

International Director for British Basketball

Responsible for the performance of the U20 and Senior Men and Women’s teams, British Performance Basketball (BPB) came to life in January 2007 following an agreement by UK Sport and the British Basketball Federation (BBF). Following formal recognition of the British structure in December 2008, the operation of Great Britain teams is now managed by BBF’s wholly owned subsidiary company British Performance Basketball Ltd (BPB). Both the British Basketball Federation and its performance company British Performance Basketball now trade under the title of “British Basketball”.
