Local Grants and Scholarships

Funding from sportscotland has allowed basketballscotland to support a number of candidates attending the UKCC Level 1 and 2 courses in Scotland who meet the following criteria:

• Currently registered as a coach with basketballscotland (registration forms are avilable here)


• Are currently delivering basketball sessions for an affiliated club, a school or a local authority in Scotland

OR

• Will commit to delivering a minimum of 6 sessions to players based in Scotland at an affiliated club, a school or local authority. This needs to be evidenced by a member of basketballscotlands professional staff, a Sports Development Officer from the authority that you will be delivering in, a schools Head Teacher or a Clubs Chairperson or Secretary

Level 1 Launch scholarships are available to cover up to £75 (44%!) of the course cost reducing the cost to £95!! Scholarships will only be available to successful applicants on completion of the course including all paperwork (i.e. candidates will be required to pay the £170 initially).

Level 2 Launch scholarships are available to cover up to £255 (73%) of the course cost reducing the cost to £95!! Scholarships will only be allocated to successful applicants on completion of the course including all paperwork (i.e. they will be required to pay the £350 initially).

Candidates will be informed in writing by basketballscotland whether or not their application has been successful.

Please note the following:

1. These scholarships are only available for UKCC courses


2. Candidates will be credited for courses following the completion of the course and on receipt of evidence of coaching activity
