It is of vital importance that all clubs protect themselves against the disastrous consequences of liability for injury or damage arising out of their actions. This includes the actions of all officials, members and voluntary helpers.
Club officials and members at all levels could find themselves held personally responsible for court costs and damages awarded where an action has been brought against the club for negligence, therefore it is essential that adequate liability insurance is arranged to avoid such consequences.
- Individual InsuranceRegistered players, coaches, and non-National League officials are covered by personal accident insurance. basketballscotland appointed volunteers are covered under the civil liability policy along with the personal accident insurance.Note: this insurance applies for all basketball activity including travelling to/from games/training, playing, watching etc.
