Many clubs choose to register their members in one bulk process, sending in all their members’ forms at once.  While this is good practice, it can be very time consuming for your club and basketballscotland has adjusted the bulk registration process for clubs to make it easier and more accurate.

Club secretaries have been sent an email with a spreadsheet showing all of the members and the registration packages those members held through the 2009-10 season.  Club secretaries have also receive a paper copy of this information.  Rather than make each club complete forms for every member in their club, basketballscotland will ask club secretaries to simply update the spreadsheet (or paper copy) with the membership packages for returning members and only complete forms for NEWmembers to the club.

If your club has not received your email or packet, email Darryl Wood at officials@basketball-scotland.com and he will arrange to have them sent to you.

You can submit the registrations for your club in one of two ways:

• Via the post or…
• Electronically using a spreadsheet

The Membership Sheet and Spreadsheet Explained

Invoice Total

At the top of the membership sheet there is a total there that indicates the total amount your club would owe based on the registrations from the 2009-2010 season.

• If you use the spreadsheet to update your registrations this total will automatically update itself. It will also adjust for the individual multiple registration discounts.
• Any members marked Release or Hold will not be added into this total.

Release

Place an ‘yes’ in this box next to a member’s name if:

• This person will not be registering with your club this season AND they have no outstanding financial obligations to your club.
  • Placing an ‘yes’ in this box will completely release this member from your club and allow them to register with any other club in Scotland without having to complete a release form.

New

Place an ‘yes’ in this box and enter in the member’s information if:

• This person is a new member to the club OR was not registered with the club last season.
• The member must complete an individual registration form, have it signed by the club and submit this to basketballscotland along with the appropriate registration fees.

Hold

Place an ‘yes’ in this box next to a member’s name if:
• This person will not be returning to your club BUT they have outstanding financial obligations to the club OR…
• You are not sure if this person is returning to club and you want to retain the club’s rights to them without submitting payment for this registration at this time* OR…
• This person is registering with your club but has not fulfilled any requirements your club may have for members.

*basketballscotland will hold the information regarding this registration, but it will not become active until we have received payment for the registration.

Register with detail changes

If you have members who will be maintaining the same registration packages they had for the 2008-2009 season, but have some personal details changing, place a ‘yes’ in the update box and also a ‘yes’ in the registration box.

No Changes

If you have members who will be maintaining the same registration packages they had for the 2008-2009 season, simply place a ‘yes’ in the register box.

This will be automatically calculated on the players date of birth.

Membership Package Prices

• Senior Player – £18
• Junior (u18) Player – £12
• Cadet/te (u16) Player – £10
• u14 Player – £6
• u12 Player – Free
• Coach – £16
• Floor Official – £11
• Table Official – £11

Coach/Officials packages

• Spreadsheet: To add a coach, floor official or table official to a member simply place an ‘yes’ in the appropriate column for the member.
• Paper: Write an “yes” in the appropriate column for the member.

Address Information

Please provide any updates to your members address information, especially their email address.

Submitting Your Club’s Registrations

Via Post

1. Review the membership sheet from your packet.
2. Update the registration packages for your membership per the instructions above:
3. Include completed Individual Registration forms for any NEW members.
4. Send your updated membership sheet, completed Club Affiliation Form and Individual Registration Forms with cheques to “Registrations, basketballscotland, Caledonia House, South Gyle, Edinburgh EH12 9DQ”.

Via Email

1. Review the membership spreadsheet.
2. Update the spreadsheet per the instructions above.
3. Complete Individual Registration forms for any NEW members.
4. Email a copy of the spreadsheet to registration@basketball-scotland.com.
5. Post completed Club Affiliation Form (you may fill this in on-line at and Individual Registration Forms with cheques matching the Invoice Total at the top of the spreadsheet to “Registrations, basketballscotland, Caledonia House, South Gyle, Edinburgh EH12 9DQ”.
