basketballscotland is seeking to appoint Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches to the Talent Development Programme (TDP). This programme is designed to increase the standard of players and coaches just below the national league and Scotland National Squad level.
The Talent Development Programme is the first step on Scotland’s High Performance pathway and the key development experience for aspiring National Squad coaches and players.
This is an exciting opportunity for coaches to be a part of programme that will significantly impact on the development of young players.
Squads operate across Scotland in Grampian, Highland, West, Tayside & Fife and East & Central.
Coaches will be required to:
- Commit to their continued development
- Work with fellow coaches to plan, deliver and review each session
- Attend coaching workshops and coach at TDP national camps
- Work towards achieving the relevant UKCC coaching qualification
- Coach the regional day-camps
- Help the players set and monitor personal goals
- Pass a Disclosure Scotland check
Coaches will receive:
- Expenses payment (Amount to be set)
- Resource pack detailing every key point of emphasis for each session
- Season content plan
- basketballscotland coaching workshops and development opportunities
- Upfront UKCC Scholarships

- Depicts professional behaviour and upholds a positive image that enhances the objectives of basketballscotland
- Self-awareness; a willingness to be challenged; and acceptance of input and direction from fellow coaches, Great Britain coaches and basketballscotland staff
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of basketball relevant to this stage of development
- National governing body qualification relevant to this position (Head Coach: Level 2, Assistant Coach: level 1) or proven equivalent experience

Commitment to undertake the scUK Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate prior to the first date of the TDP programme (equivalent child protection training will be considered)
