East – Shared coach education 13 – 21 October
In October 2012, Scottish Hockey, Basketball Scotland, Netball Scotland and Scottish Swimming will work together to deliver UKCC Level 1 coaching courses as part of a shared education week. Each sport will deliver a standard UKCC Level 1 course and also a Fast track (technical content only) UKCC Level 1 course. The Fast track courses will acknowledge Approved Prior Learning (APL) and be open to any coach already holding a UKCC Level 1 qualification in any sport.
Programme aims
- Increase the number of deployed coaches progressing through the coaching pathway
- Support local partners in the recruitment, retention & deployment of volunteers
- Improve the quality of coaching & volunteering in the East region
Programme content
- Coaches can undertake a maximum of three UKCC courses in one week
- sportscotland will act as a central point of contact for all coach applications
- sportscotland UKCC Level 1 subsidies will be utilised by coaches
