U14 International Summer Slam- Latest News

U14 International Summer Slam

The U14 Development Squads will be hosting the U14 International Summer Slam in Edinburgh, June 8-10th .

Our U14 Scotland teams, both boys and girls will compete against England, Northern Ireland and Spanish Division One teams from Catalonia. The U14 Girls will play round robin plus finals and the boys will play double header round robin.

U14 Girls Coach Evans said “We have really stepped it up a level and training has become a lot more intense. The fundamentals were already in place from the Future Starz camp and now what we wanted to do was improve on their skill level, co-ordination and work on plays, mainly fast breaking moves and offence/defence.”

Paul Boath u14 Boys Coach commented, “We have had an intense couple of months training and I am happy with the effort the boys have given and the level we have achieved. We will be as ready as we can be and no matter what I’m sure our boys will have benefited from the training and tournament and I have no doubt I will be proud of them at the end of our program.”

During the tournament our two Scotland teams will be playing on the show court ahead and following the much anticipated GB v Canada fixtures at Meadowbank Sport Centre. This is, for some, a once in a lifetime experience to play in front of a home crowd of such a scale and at the U14 level will provide a lasting legacy for youth basketball in Scotland.

You can check the tournament schedule below. We hope to see you all there!

Tickets on the day: U14’s Free entry/ Adults £5 Weekend pass
