2011 National Volunteer Recognition Awards hit Coaching Staff

These awards recognise and celebrate the significant achievements and contributions of basketballscotland’s volunteers at all ages. The winners have demonstrated leadership, creativity, co-operation, dedication and have devoted their efforts to the development of basketball.

Three members of U16 Women National Team coaching staff were nominated and shortlisted in different categories, an achievement that has never been seen before in the 7 year history of these awards.

Dave Evans was nominated for the Volunteer of the Year Award, Louise Gillespie for the Young Volunteer of the Year and Luis Romero for the Chairman’s Award.  This was a huge honour  for our coaching staff.

Winners were announced on Sunday the 4th of December at the Kelvin Hall Arena prior to a Glasgow Rocks vs Newcastle Eagles in an exciting BBL fixture.

Finally Louise Gillespie won the Young Volunteer of the Year Award, a fitting recognition for all her hard work during last season. We are all extremely proud of her.
