Scot makes European Final

Following a sucessful tournament at the Under 20 Women’s Division A Championship in Serbia, Chris Dodds will this evening (Sunday 17 July), take charge of the Final between Spain and Russia. Dodds who doubles up his role as an International referee with that of Scottish National Referee Instructor as well as basketballscotland development Manager for Tayside & Fife has already had a

relatively successful season in Europe  refereeing a Mens Eurochallenge 1/4 final game and Womens Euroleague 1/8 final games.

The U20 Women’s tournament includes Great Britain who were promoted from Division B last season. They finish a respectable 8th and the side included four Scottish players (D Hayward, R Allison, E MacGarrachan & K Taylor). GB met both finalist along the way and with Spain unbeaten and Russia only losing to Poland in the qualifying rounds the game is shaping up to be a real classic.
