basketballscotland and the Officials’ Commission would like to confirm and remind All referees of  the date and venue for the 2011-12 Pre-Season Referee Seminar.

This will take place on Saturday 27th August 2011 in Stirling between 09:00 and 17:30.

Referees of all ages, levels and committment either to Schools, Regional or National Leagues are invited to attend the 2011-12 Pre Season Referee Seminar to help improve their rules knowledge, mechanics and game management skills as well as develop their confidence as a basketball referee.

The Officials’ Commission have organised a packed seminar programme and can confirm it will include relevant DVD Clips from Scottish League and Cup games, rules test, fitness test (2o metre bleep test), as well as some on court experience for some referees as we work in conjunction with Stirling Knight Basketball Club who are providing games for referees to officiate. Provisionally a guest speaker from FIBA Europe Referee Department will also be involved and further details will be communicated as soon as this is confirmed.
*Attendance at this Seminar is highly recommended for all referees wishing to officiate in the basketballscotland National Leagues, Cups and Play offs.

**Attendance, combined with rules test and fitness test results, as well as current refereeing ability are all considering factors for all National League, Cup and Play Off games, including finals.
