Kats stay cool under Rocks pressure
1st Quarter
GR win the tip, 2 OR from KK but miss put back. GR ball, #6 drives and dishes to #13 and score 2 to open the scoring. GR set-up offence and #13 gets deep 2. #14 grabs OR and gets fouled KK baseline ball, GR grab inbound #11 score fast break lay-up. #7 for KK scores there 1st points, #15 for KK get easy basket after pass over the top from #9. TO from GR, KK get fast break. lay-up from #14. #13 drives to basket and scores 2, #5 scores right back for KK. score tied at 8 each with 5mins gone. #6 and #21 get steal from # 15 KK., but GR TO and #6 get tough 2 from in the paint. GR baseline ball in KKs half. GR rocks force another TO, jump ball GR possession. GR force baseline shot and give the ball to KK. #14 drives to baseline pulls up misses shot get own rebound and GR set offence. Long pass from #7 gets knocked out of court by #8 GR. Fast break pass from #6 GR too long for #11GR. 30seconds left in the 1st Quarter, #21 GR forces KK to knock ball out of court, KK have ball back but clock runs out and shot not allowed. Quarter finishes 8-13 to the Kool Kats, both teams finding there range and getting settled into the game and both teams showing lots of hustle.
2nd Quarter
KK ball from start, #9grabs OR and gets fouled by #13 GR and goes to the line for 2, misses both shots. GR throw ball away, KK’s up on offence. Fast break from #6 pulls up for mid range shot and scores. #13 gets fouled going to the basket scores 1 from 2. GR to the ball, fast break to KK, #14 grabs OR and gets fouled shooting 2, makes the 1st misses the 2nd strong Defensive boards from #13, ball TO from GR, #6 for KK scores FB lay-up. KK’s steal ball at half way, fouled by #6 GR, #14 shoots 2 scores 1st misses 2nd and #10 grabs another OR.score 9-19 with 6mins left. #7 scores baseline 2 for KK. #13 GR drives against #10 KK and gets the foul, baseline ball GR, quick pass from #11 to #31 GR, #12 KK fouls, shooting 2, #31 scores both. KK’s on team fouls with 5mins to go. GR double team ball handler and cause TO, GR ball. reach in against #6 GR, KK’s ball. A few TO from both teams, GR have the ball #13 drives to the basket and gets fouled by #15 shooting 2, drains them both. 20 seconds to go, GR get ball back with 8 seconds to go and #11 scores big 3 pointer buzzer beater. taking the score to 22-25. Glasgow Rocks showed real character gettin back from a 10point deficit. Both teams fighting hard for every rebound and loose ball.

3 Quarter
GR have the ball from the start, KK steal the ball #7 gives a good pass to a running #14 and scores the basket and gets the foul but misses the extra point. #31 get the steal for GR and scores an easy lay-up. #14 shoots a 3 , #9 get OR and #5 scores deep 2. GR TO over the ball, #14 grabs DR and runs the court dishing to #9 who scores the basket. 24-31. good passing from KK, #15 gets the ball at the elbow and scores the 2. GR are struggling to set the offence, and give the TO, #9 goes to the basket and gets fouled shooting 2, misses them both. KK get another OR. #11 for GR runs the court and gets the foul by #7, shooting 2, scores 1 from 2, gets the steal on the baseline after DR, but GR lose ball to a weak pass, #14 scores another FB basket. GR force a TO and set the Offence. GR take a time-out 4mins into the 3rd, score at 25-35. KK ball after the Time -out, #15 goes to the basket but an excellent block from #21 GR. Good D from the GR force KK to put the ball out of play. #9 KK and #11 GR chase a loose ball, KK came away with the ball. #15 scores easy 2 under basket. double team by KK force a steal and #14 score the put back. #15 KK scores baseline 2, #44 GR drives to basket and draws a foul, shooting 2 from the FT, sinks both shots. KK inbound put out by good hustle from #44 GR. FB from GR #8 and #11 combine brilliantly for an easy 2 points for #8. GR press the inbound but KK’s take a time-out. score 31-41 with 1min 50 left in the 3rd. #11 force a TO for the KK, jump ball given to GR, TO at both ends, KK take a baseline shot #44 grabs rebound and gets fouled. KK make 2 OR but fail to score, GR run the floor and are unlucky to score, but a fumbled inbound from KK give GR the ball bk with 2seconds to go. Quarter finishes 31-41.
4th Quarter
KK start with the ball in the final quarter, KK’ work the ball well and #10 scores a close range 2 from the baseline, #11 for GR runs court and gets a baseline 2. #14 KK gets fouled again going to the basket, shoots 2 makes 1, GR on offence, #21 gets the ball in the post and #9 KK gets called for holding. #31 gets a steal but is unable to score from it KK’s ball. KK’s turn the ball over again GR work the ball into #21 and get the 2 points in the paint. #9 gives a no look pass to #14 and gets an un contested lay-up. 3mins gone, score 35 – 46. #6 GR puts ball into #21 and #21 scores in the paint again. #21 puts up baseline 2, and goes for the rebound but fouls KK # 9. #7KK takes a deep 2 but # 13 returns with a quick 2, #15 KK scores another 2, #11 GR steal the ball and get baseline 2 to make it a 9point game, #4 gets fouled going to basket but misses the 2 FT. with 5mins to go, KK call a time-out. #15 KK scores inside. #11 GR gets called for 2nd foul for reaching, KK sideline ball. GR TO the ball from a FB, #14 has the lane but gets fouled hard by #4 GR, 2shots from the FT scores both. #11 scores baseline 2 straight away. #15 gets fouled goin to the basket putting GR on 5 team fouls, shooting 2. KK call time-out with 3mins 20 and score at 43-54. #15 misses both FT, GR on quick break, #13 scores mid range 2. GR force a 24sec violation, very strong D by GR, #11 goes into the post and get the shot on the turn to make it a 7 pt game. KK miss a deep 2 with 1sec left on the shot clock. GR ball, they set-up the offence, ball put out of bounds GR ball time out by GR, 1min 46, 47-54. Baseline ball to GR, KK get TO, GR double team point gaurd, but foul #15, she shoots and scores 2. GR press inbound KK jus use the clock, 3second violation by #15 KK, GR ball 1min to go, #21 drives to the basket sinks the basket shooting 1 misses but gets the OR, jump ball GR ball baseline. TO KK ball, #14 drives to the basket gets the 2, #21 answers straight back with a baseline 2, 15seconds to go GR have the ball but lose out to a solid KK D. Game ends 51-58 to the Edinburgh Kool Kats. Kool Kats had the lead from the very start and were not letting The Rocks break them down. The Rocks were unlucky with a few shot not dropping but played brilliantly.
