basketballscotland are delighted to welcome nomination forms for the 2010/11 Grampian Basketball  Awards.

These awards are for individual coaches who have shown effort, dedication and commitment throughout the 10/11 season.  

If you know someone who is deserving of one of the awards listed below complete the Nomination Form and return it to basketball Scotland by 8th April.

  • Young Persons Coach of the Region
  • Regional Leagues Coach of the Region
  • Young Coach of the Region
  • Special Recognition

The awards will be presented at the Basketball Grampain AGM on Tuesday 24th of May.

Category winners will automatically be put forward to basketballscotlands National Volunteer Awards.

Young Persons Coach of the Region

This award is to be made to a coach who has made an outstanding contribution to the introduction and early development of basketball for young people under the age of 18.

Throughout the 10-11 season, the winner of this award will have:

  1. Registered with basketballscotland
  2. Delivered quality coaching in a fun and safe environment
  3. Maximised the potential of their players
  4. Rewarded their players effort, commitment and achievement
  5. Developed their players confidence
  6. Shown a commitment to ongoing professional development

Regional Leagues Coach of the Region

This award is to be made to a coach who has made an outstanding contribution within any level of the Regional Leagues (U12, U14, U16 and Senior).

Throughout the 10-11 season, the winner of this award will have:

  1. Registered with basketballscotland
  2. Delivered quality coaching in a fun and safe environment
  3. Widened access to basketball within the community
  4. Maximised the potential of their players
  5. Shown a commitment to ongoing professional development

Young Coach of the Region

This award will be made to a coach aged 25 years or younger in recognition of their achievements to date.

Throughout the 10-11 season, the winner of this award will have:

  1. Registered with basketballscotland
  2. Delivered quality coaching in a safe environment
  3. Shown creativity and determination in their development as a coach
  4. Maximised the potential of their players
  5. Shown a commitment to ongoing professional development

Special Recognition

This award will be presented in exceptional circumstances to recognise the achievements of an individual through a lifetime dedicated to basketball, coaching and/or players.

Although the entries will go direct to the basketballscotland head office, the Basketball Grampian awards will be judged by key people within the Grampian region.
